Now on to something completely different, you remember last week we had the 21st December 2011 and all over the web we could see posts saying “in one year it’s the end of the world…etc.”
If you were lucky enough to avoid this New Age style fashion, and as a reminder, it’s about the end of the Mayan Calendar, or so they say, which is supposed to last for 5125 years, until the 21st December 2012. According to Mayan culture experts, this is an invention and such stories don’t appear anywhere especially since there are no ancient Mayan books on the subject. Therefore it would be just a hippy/marketed/religious/alter-globalized trend.
At the moment we don’t really care. What we care about is the fact that this fashion sells books, movies or underground bunkers and creates an economic move. Therefore impacts Forex, at various levels. Even if at the end of the day, everything that will be sold in preparation for the apocalypse will most likely be hidden by the Christmas gift-buying season.
I actually spent some time imagining a fictitious economic calendar, forecasting the 21st December 2012, exactly when Armageddon starts. Warning: this is highly sarcastic :)
