Jerem53940′s interview

“For three years I participated in the contest, I won with serenity”

He is only 21, but Jeremy Letestu impresses the elders: after being ranked 58th in September, he was 12th last month, which allowed him to win a cash reserve of 1,000 euros at RTFX.

Jeremy is preparing an accountant degree and has just started an apprenticeship in a firm. Therefore he does not have a lot of time to trade: he places his orders from home during his lunch break. Even if he can’t follow all the time the market’s evolutions, he admits to be addicted to the contest. “Sometimes I take positions at 2am, just before going to bed.”

To trade, Jeremy uses simple methods: pivot point, resistance and support point… He prefers trading EUR-JPY. “I do not have family in Japan, he jokes. Seriously, I think this pair is more volatile than the others and therefore offers more opportunities.”

Despite his age, Jeremy has participated in the third contest. “The first year, we could use the leverage. Therefore I used to liquidate my account in fifteen days!”. In the next edition, his progress has been obvious, so he won 1,000 euros Free Margin for the March 2009 Contest. Unfortunately , he used the leverage 100 on the real platform and he lost everything in three months.. Not discouraged, these beginner mistakes made him stronger. “Today, I am much calmer. When I am ranked among the top twenty, I don’t get stressed like before.”

Now Jeremy is focusing on the regularity. “Finishing in the top 20 monthly is nice but it is better to target the top fifteen places in the general ranking, to get a bigger price”. Obviously he would even prefer to be ranked among the top ten, which would allow him to win 5,000 Euros Free Margin at least. “From this amount, I could be able to trade as a professional trader”. This goal does not seem unrealistic as he was fourth overall on the 9th November. He could also use his experience on the contest for his professional career: after passing his accountant degree Jeremy thinks about finding a job in the financial markets.
